Setback for AP Government and Dinesh Reddy

Andhra Pradesh government and DGP Dinesh Reddy faced a major setback today. Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed government’s petition, which challenged the Central Administrative Tribunal’s orders to cancel the appointment of Dinesh Reddy as DGP. Court also ordered to send the DGP level officers’ list to the UPSC. It also directed that to constitute an committee to appoint new DGP within one week. Dinesh Reddy should continue as DGP, till the new one takes over. High court also fined the state government an amount of Rs.5,000, for wasting the time of the court.
