Geethika Sharma’s suicide case is taking many twists and turns with each passing day. Delhi Police are planning to interrogate Gopal Kanda, the prime accused and Aruna Chaddha, the co-accused, jointly. Police are going to seek the remand of Aruna Chaddha, who is in judicial remand. They already interrogated Kanda yesterday, but of no use. Police sources told that Kanda was at his cautious best and did not disclose anything about the case.
23year old Geethika Sharma, who had worked as a flight attendant in MDLR airline, owned by Gopal Kanda, found hanging in her home, in Ashok Vihar area, New Delhi, on 5th August. Kanda, a minister of state for home affairs in Haryana government, eventually resigned to it due to this case. In a suicide note, Geethika alleged that she was ending her life due to harassment by Kanda and Aruna Chaddha, who was HR manager of the Airlines. On 5th August itself, Police registered FIR and Kanda resigned to the minister post. On 7th of August, Police sent notice to Kanda, but he denied his involvement. On the next day, Police arrested Aurna Chaddha and detained Mandeep, another employee of MDLR airline. On the same day, Kanda moved anticipatory bail petition. On 9th of August, Police raided Kanda’s residence in Sirsa, Haryana, but he was absconding. After 11days of hibernation, Kanda surrendered at Ashok Vihar police station on 18th of this month in a dramatic way. He is now under Police remand.
Geethika’s family members demand investigation should be done on camera. They alleged that Haryana government is shielding Kanda. They said that already many evidences were erased and Geethika’s face book account was also deactivated.
