Children death spree is continuing unabated in Thirupati Ruia Hospital. Today’s death toll is five. The victims belong to Cuddappah, Chittur and Nellore districts. Lack of Oxygen and irresponsibility of the doctors are the causes of the deaths, alleged the parents of the victims. Local elected representatives staged a demonstration opposite the hospital. Police and officials reached the hospital and started an enquiry into the deaths. Hospital officials said that there was no shortage of Oxygen and also said that, only due to deteriorating health, children were died.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy ordered an enquiry into the deaths of children in Ruia Hospital. Meanwhile, local leader and minister Galla Aruna Kumari today visited Ruia Hospital. She said that doctors are not the cause of the deaths. She said that local private hospitals were sending those children, whose condition is deteriorating, to the Ruia Hospital. She promised that she will take the issue of funds deficiency to the government.
Some estimates say that more than 600 children have been dying every year in the Ruia hospital, Thirupati due to insufficient facilities and lack of Oxygen.
